Third Fostex consortium meeting: visit to the Moroccan partners

Before saluting 2019, the FOSTEX consortium partners had the opportunity to visit beautiful Morocco and explore first-hand the educational infrastructure available in this EU partner country. The agenda of the third project meeting was structured on several days in mid-November, optimising travel arrangements of the partners based on needs and involvement in the different implementation actions, while offering several moments for small group exchange.

The project coordinator UPC met the representatives of the Arabian partner countries on Monday November 11th in the afternoon, while the plenary consortium meeting was opened the day after at UH2C’s Faculty of sciences Campus Ben M’sik with the welcome words of Nora Yousfy, Vice dean of research and cooperation and director of the Doctoral School of UH2C. Currently, UH2C has 18 institutions, around 120,000 students and remarkable joint laboratories with ESITH, the other Moroccan educational institution part of this international collaboration. The faculty where the meeting was held has 3000 students and several research and teaching labs, providing the training – together with ESITH – of the future workforce for the local T&C sector.

To organise FOSTEX consortium meeting 3, all Moroccan project partners – AMITH, ESITH and UH2C – joined forces, assuring that all participants reached the different locations planned to visit in this edition of consortium gathering. After opening the meeting in Casablanca at UH2C, day 2 and 3 were scheduled in Marrakech, where ESITH had the honour to hosts the 2019 edition of ITMC, the International Conference on Intelligent Textiles & Mass Customisation.

After the meeting conclusion, project coordinator Mònica Ardanuy caught the opportunity to present FOSTEX project at ITMC 2019 – Smart Textile Salon, exploiting the international event to disseminate the project aims to a large audience of professionals of the T&C sector – more details about the conference in the dedicated article [link]. Next meeting is planned in March in Jordan and will be hosted by the local project partners: ACI, BAU and JUST. Keep in touch to discover the outcomes and register to the FOSTEX newsletter!
